The following area attractions are arranged based on their distance from Anasazi Village from closest to furthest. Distances are “direct line” distances and not travel distances by car since your route may vary by the time of day and the app you use to guide you to the attraction.  If you plan to go to any of these locations, please check their websites first to identify whether they have any special events planned for the time you wish to visit. This could affect entrance fees you will need to pay.

Musical Instrument Museum – 4.5 miles from Anasazi Village

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park – 5.5 miles from Anasazi Village

It’s a model railroad.  It’s a carousel.  It’s a museum.  It’s a hiking park.  It’s a playground.  It’s a train ride.  Actually, it is all these things!  This park features a 10,000 square foot model railroad building that houses four model railroad clubs, a museum that captures generations of railroad history, an exact 5:12 reproduction of a Colorado narrow gauge railroad that you can ride, a state-of-the-art railroad themed playground for children of all ages, plus room to hike and walk the dog.  Check their website for all the details because there is much more than what is written here.

Arizona Boardwalk is a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination that features 6 major attractions (more coming soon) including OdySea Aquarium, Butterfly Wonderland, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, Pangea Land of the Dinosaurs, Surprise Your Eyes, and Polar Play Ice Bar, in addition to 20 dining, shopping, and amusement venues. The outdoor courtyard regularly hosts a variety of free events and family entertainment throughout the year. Parking is free and there is no admission required to enter Arizona Boardwalk.

Visitors to one of the newest art galleries in the Valley will be able to “paint” with their bodies using infrared lights and a projection screen, walk through 8,000 lights that illuminate and change colors around them, and be part of a virtual-reality dinner party about an alien abduction.

Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art – 8.0 miles from Anasazi Village

The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) is an artist and audience-centered institution that brings communities together under the shared philosophy that art has the power to engage our imaginations, challenge our perceptions, and inspire change.  Use the website also as a portal to the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, and other art events and exhibits in Scottsdale.

Desert Botanical Garden – 9.1 miles from Anasazi Village

Discover why the Arizona Cardinals and the Fiesta Bowl call State Farm Stadium home.  Go into the areas not seen by the fans on game day including the press box, an exclusive private loft, the NFL visiting team locker room, and a look up and around from the stadium floor.

Phoenix Raceway – 23.8 miles from Anasazi Village

While best known for hosting 2 NASCAR weekends per year, this “Jewel of the Desert” hosts many other races and events other times of the year.  The biggest event in 2020 will be the finals for the NASCAR championship.  Before your first visit, be sure to read the FAQs under the “Visiting” menu and study the map (provided in the address link above) to understand the parking area locations.  Most of the events at the Phoenix Raceway will appeal to car buffs and gearheads but a few events will appeal to everyone.
